Palazzi dei Rolli

In 2006, UNESCO declared the Palazzi dei Rolli a World Heritage Site. These buildings, which date from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, are located in different parts of the historic centre of Genoa, including Via Garibaldi. The Genoese aristocracy built them to house high-ranking visitors from abroad. They reflect a particularly exuberant period for Genoese traders, collectors, merchants and bankers. These groups all helped create a legacy that has now been completely restored and is accessible to visitors

The Genoa Aquarium

With 71 tanks reproducing marine, lake and land environments, this is the largest aquarium in Europe. There are more than 12,000 specimens of 600 different species of fish, reptiles, amphibians, mammals, birds, and invertebrates that call the aquarium home. A visit is like taking an exciting journey through the vastness of the sea: you’ll discover the friendliness of seals, the intelligence of dolphins, the awkwardness of penguins, the disquieting calm of sharks, and how sweet the baby animals that live in the sea truly are. You can even take a behind the scenes look at the work required to maintain the aquarium.
